PREPARATION--THE #RLV
FOLDER | ![]() |
USE |
3.
Your dresser will now get a blue box showing FOLDERS and buttons. UNDRESS will let your dresser take things off
your body in batches or one at a time. | ![]() ![]() |
4.
When your dresser clicks FOLDERS, s/he
will be presented with the first page of Outfit buttons. Each one is numbered,
with the number keyed to the list of Folder Names above the buttons. That list
will also show if the folder is [Worn] [Unworn] or [Partial Worn]. There may be
buttons like "Page 2" and "Page 3" if you have a large number of
Folders. | ![]() |
5.
When your dresser clicks an outfit button, s/he will get a choice of WEAR (put on everything in the folder), REMOVE (take off anything in the folder that
you're wearing), or BACK (up one menu
level). Operation is quite intuitive at this point, but if your dresser makes a
mistake or you change your mind, the REMOVE button will be right there to take it
off you again. (This can be the most fun of all.) | ![]() |
HINTS AND
QUIRKS
6. You can put
lots of folders under #Outfits. However, RLV places a limit on the total number of characters used in all of the
folder names, so if the ring returns an error when you first try to use it, drag
a few folders out of #Outfits and try again. If the error goes away, then go
back and RENAME folders with shorter names. Twenty to thirty folders can be
done easily.
7. The Ring has the same issues with NO MODIFY
attachments that any other RLV device has, so it requires the same
workaround of placing items in folders with special names which give the Viewer
the attachment point. Examples of such folder names are .(l lower leg) or
.(left foot).

.)
8. A
suggestion for naming your folders: if you break one outfit into several
folders, start the folder names with the same 2 letter code. (For example, "D1"
would be Dress 1.) Follow that with -#-, so three folders to make up that dress
would be -1-, -2-, -3-. After that, a short name of the dress. Finally, what's
in the folder, like "Top" or "Skirt". So our above example might be: | ![]() |
HAVE FUN!
The Ring can add a whole new level of enjoyment,
whether in a D/s environment, historical or Gorean roleplay, fun with friends, or even when
shopping! We hope you like it as much as we do.
